After more than two decades with the company, Gitte Gard Talmo, CEO of Eidesvik Offshore, has announced her resignation to pursue a new international opportunity abroad.
Eidesvik Offshore, a leading Norwegian offshore vessel owner, confirmed the news in an official statement, praising Talmo’s immense contributions and leadership during her long tenure. Talmo joined the company in 2001 and held several management roles, including Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), before being promoted to CEO on January 1, 2022. She succeeded former CEO Jan Fredrik Meling, who retired after a long career at Eidesvik.
Under Talmo’s leadership, Eidesvik Offshore navigated challenging market conditions while maintaining its financial strength. Arne Austreid, the chair of the Eidesvik Offshore board, expressed deep appreciation for her service. “Gitte has done an excellent job as the CEO of Eidesvik Offshore, and I would like to express my gratitude for her dedication and the results she has achieved during her tenure,” Austreid stated. He emphasized that the company remains in a strong position, crediting Talmo for steering the organization to its current financial and strategic standing.
Talmo, in her parting remarks, expressed confidence in the future of Eidesvik Offshore, extending her best wishes for the company’s continued growth and success. As Eidesvik begins the search for her successor, Talmo will continue serving as CEO until a replacement is named, ensuring a smooth transition for the company.
Her departure marks the end of a remarkable era for Eidesvik Offshore, with her leadership leaving a lasting legacy on the organization and the Norwegian offshore industry.
